Status: Resolved - 4th Aug - Video playback restored
Video playback has been restored across SLA Online. All video content has been migrated to our new hosting provider, bunny.net, a European platform with content delivered from EU-based infrastructure. Content is served through SLA Online exactly as before so no action is required from clients, and existing courses and links continue to work as they did previously.
What happens next:
1. Captions and transcripts will be reprocessed and restored over the coming days. We will confirm when this phase is complete.
2. Improved uploads. As part of this work we are introducing a new upload process, allowing video to be uploaded directly within SLA Online without needing a separate provider account. We will share details as this becomes available.
3. More information. Documentation for this migration, together with more details about the new supplier, data protection, etc, will be published shortly.
4. Clients who moved content to YouTube. Some clients hosted content on YouTube during the disruption. Those courses will continue to work as they are and have not been changed. If you would like that content brought onto the new platform, or would prefer to keep it where it is, please get in touch and we will talk through the options with you.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience during this disruption. The change was made at pace, but it has moved video delivery onto infrastructure we control directly, with a European provider and a simpler process for our users, and it removes the dependency that caused this issue.
If you experience any problems with video playback, please report this here and we will address it immediately.
